Future of our World/ An Individual Part

So I have been studying a lot about socialism - since Obama has made statements about spreading the wealth. This is not a good thing. It is way too long to list everything I have read about it - but socialism is one way of our individual freedoms being taken away. Now do not get me wrong - I am totally for helping those less fortunate - but I think that should come from individuals or Charities - not Government...and we should not be FORCED by government to do this.

It seems the more our cultural seems to be "enlightened" and "open" to everyone's situation and views...is exactly when they close off their minds and acceptance of traditional religion and God. There is no longer right and wrong - you are only judgemental if you go against the politically hot button of the time. So what do you do?

Time after time we have been warned that when this country turns it back on God - God will leave this country. He cannot bless us if we do not do our part and open our hearts to Him. So instead of fearing of where our society is headed - we need to be more concerned at where WE are headed as an individual. Then we can effect those around us in a positive way. We have to live up to our fullest potential and then we can have our hearts opened to how we can be a positive influence to those in our lives.

Just something I have had on my mind lately.

What if the individuals and the charities don't step in? Or don't have the means?

I suppose that then they'd still have their back turned to God... this whole issue confuses me.

I agree - it is confusing. That is why I have been reading about it. It seems like a great thought and idea at first - and what it means to those that need the help. But it is not the right solution for the long term.

If Charities and individuals are not helping and stepping in - then there is a problem with our society. It seems that when the government gets out of the way - more can get done.

Am example of government this is New Orleans. The money the government has to help rebuild the city is not being used properly. They also have so much red tape and different forms to fill out that hardly ANYONE is rebuilding with the help they were suppose to have through the government. Habitat for Humanity - Brad Pitt - Harry Connick Jr - and a few other organizations have built WAY more houses than the government. In one case 70+ houses were built in the time the government approved I think it was one house to be rebuilt.

Individuals with a desire and passion to help gets way more done....government makes way too many rules and more rules and more rules so they can say they have covered all the possible lawsuits. It is ridicules.

WE THE PEOPLE --- have NO say in how our government is really run. Common Sense has completely left the government. If they really want to make changes - make it easier for individuals to get the resources from the government to help those in need. I would bet those individuals would get things done in half the time and with half the money. =)
